Food has always been a part of me. It's in my DNA. In 1976, my parents opened the first Kussifay Taberna in Mar Del Plata, Argentina. I grew up in that restaurant and remember the lines of people waiting outside to order my parent's pizzas, pastas, and empanadas. This made a big impression on me as a little girl, and one day I wanted to have a restaurant of my own. Fast forward to the year 2000 when I was 20 years old, I found myself in Miami, Florida. I arrived with a couple hundred dollars in my pocket, without any English, but with a clear goal of what I wanted to accomplish. I decided that I would work and save every penny until I had enough to open up a restaurant I could call my own.
That day finally came in 2007 when the first Kussifay Taberna was opened in Hollywood, Florida. I started with a small kitchen and only four tables, making mistakes and learning along the way. Beginnings are always tough, but with hard work, Kussifay began to grow and improve, earning the loyalty of the community. At Kussifay, we use the best ingredients, make everything from scratch and have a family atmosphere. With the help of my parents traveling long distances from Argentina to help, my dream has become a reality. The core principles are still with us today as we work hard to produce great food. Today, because of our loyal clients who continue to support us, we now have two locations.
